The Greeks put their dead into the sky. Perseus, Andromeda, Cassiopeia and the sea monster all hang together in one patch of autumn stars — catasterism, the turning of a person into a constellation. This is the same idea applied to reading: every figure is a point of light, and the lines between them are the part that is hard to hold in your head.
